Hangar Fundraiser

28 September 2020 / / Ongoing
/ Why a Hangar?
At Mission Geeks we focus our work in remote rural areas and to reach these areas we use a small 4 seater aircraft.

We are raising funds to construct a hangar base, workshop and office in Mkushi that will serve as:

  • Secure storage for the aircraft protecting it from tampering as well as wind, rain and sun.
  • An operational field base with flight planning, maintenance and spares.
  • A workshop for maintenance and repair of project equipment.
  • Storage for tools, equipment and supplies.
  • A sheltered area for loading and unloading passengers and cargo.

Funding Raised So Far
/ Project Progress

We are so grateful to have raised a total of $7,500 from a generous anonymous donor ($2,500) and Action Auto ($5,000) which meant we we were able to erect the basic shell of the hangar at our temporary air base at Kawa airfield! Newton Young kindly donated all the ground work in preparing the site. Thank you Newton! It is great be able to get the aircraft out of the sun and rain and have a dry area for loading and maintenance!

We are now raising the remaining funding required to move the steel structure to our new base at Kasulu Airstrip and to complete the building of the hangar, apron, office and workshop.
