Mission Geeks currently hangars our Cessna 182 aircraft at an airstrip on private farmland. But, God-willing, we are hoping that in 2025 we will be able to move to a new location, with a leased airstrip and land to build a permanent hangar with offices, storage and a workshop for training personnel and repairing equipment.
Having our own base would vastly improve operational efficiency and security for the organisation and we are hopeful that an application for funding the hangar will be granted by the end of 2024. While the land was cleared over a decade ago, we still need to raise funds to level the airstrip and get it licensed with the Civil Aviation Authority here in Zambia. Being situated in a remote location means site visits by the CAA and environmental inspectors can be rather costly, and levelling a runway to make it suitable for an aircraft is no mean feat!
So we have decided to run our own GoFundMe specifically to cover the costs of getting the airstrip ready for use. If you would like to support our airstrip project please click here to make your donation. (Any additional funds raised over the projected budget will go into Mission Geeks’ operations fund). Thank you!
